Built from the Ground Up
HBS Group traces its origins to Chikmagalur, Karnataka — a region better known for its coffee estates than its commerce. H. B. Sudharshan began independent contracting work in 2004, and after a successful run of smaller projects, formally established Concshade Construction Pvt. Ltd. in 2008 as a PWD Class 1 contractor. Recognising that infrastructure quality is only as strong as its supply chain, the group vertically integrated — adding stone crushing and brick manufacturing operations that serve both internal projects and the broader construction market in Karnataka.
In the years that followed, the same philosophy of principled enterprise extended into new sectors: luxury hospitality through JW Marriott Chikmagalur, and precision manufacturing through Surya Panel — a patent-holding HDF laminate flooring manufacturer, and premium real estate through Vacation Village. Today, the HBS Group portfolio spans six companies, employing over 250 people.
